Configure Object Visibility Settings

Get the right apps, tabs, record types and objects to show or hide for the right users by adjusting profiles, permission sets and permission set groups. This covers cleanup and diagnosis as well as new setups.

How MeshMesh does it

  1. Audits tab access and object permissions across permission set groups, and checks why an app does or does not show in the App Launcher for a given user.
  2. Checks layouts against field-level security, such as finding custom fields on a Case compact layout that the System Administrator profile cannot see.
  3. Changes tab visibility on a group's own permission set through the REST API.
  4. When Metadata API deploys do not remove a permission, because profile deploys only add, patches the profile through the REST API instead, turning off dependent permissions in the same request.
  5. Confirms the change with a SOQL query.
  6. Writes an implementation plan and pauses for the user when some settings cannot be changed, such as tabs on managed component permission sets that cannot be modified or muted.
