Configure Record Sharing Access
Control who can see which records: sharing rules, public groups, roles, queues, organization-wide defaults and restriction rules, set so the right users see the right data and no more.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Researches the platform limits and metadata that apply. For example, it checked restriction rule limits, and it checked the sharing rule metadata type and whether the target object exists.
- When the request cannot be expressed directly, it says so and lays out options for the user to choose from.
- Asks the user to approve an implementation plan before deploying.
- Builds the supporting pieces: a custom checkbox field, a public group, a permission set, a page layout update and replacement sharing rules.
- Tightens profile permissions, for example removing View All and Modify All on an object, then deploys and verifies field-level security.
